Our Path to Net Zero
As the world moves toward a future with 10 billion people, we recognise our responsibility to nature, climate, and people. We are investing in nature-centric farming systems, emissions reduction, and decarbonisation programmes to ensure long-term sustainability. Our work supports thriving rural communities, nourishes people worldwide, and secures a future for New Zealand’s farming families. Aligned with the Paris Agreement and 1.5°C targets, our strategy evolves with climate science, guided by SBTi and FLAG frameworks to drive meaningful action.
Lower Carbon Red Meat
New Zealand’s pastorally farmed animals are raised with care in a temperate climate – free ranged and grass fed. Animals grow with the seasons, nourished by grass which has been grown by the sun, great soil health and plentiful natural rainfall. Our farmers produce animals with high animal health. Even allowing for international freight, New Zealand lamb is 58%* lower than the global average, and our beef 36%*.

Powered by ag tech solutions provider MEQ, we use world leading AI digital technology that assesses the eating quality of lamb and prime beef in real time to enable consistent quality, optimum cut profiles and age selection.
